Conservation, Conservation, Conservation
Dr. Jill Landesberg-Boyle put simple conservation measures into place at FKCC, saving the institution approximately $100,000 a year. The equivalent of 1 staff position.
Dr, Jill Landesberg-Boyle, incorporated both simple procedural changes and technology changes. Both were simple, low cost measures that amounted to a very effective strategy with a big payoff.
Employees were asked to turn out the lights and turn off computers. The maintenance team added energy check into their daily rounds. Timers and light sensors were incorporated into public spaces to control lighting, TV's, and other electrical equipment.
As items needed replacement, lighting was upgraded to more efficient options and equipment was phased in with more efficient models.
Landscaping and building planning were also requested to incorporate conservation measures. The new marine building designed with LEED standards and new landscaping incorporated native vegetation and shade planning.
None of these changes are hard or expensive, and yet cleary they are effective.

FKCC and DOD Appropriation
As the lead agency for a federal appropriation, Florida Keys Community College is expected to share in the better part of a $2.24 million. The Student's President
Quote form a previous student of Dr. Jill Landesberg-Boyle's:
"Dr. Jill Landesberg-Boyle is a very principle driven person and will work hard both in her professional time and personal time to make sure things are moving in the right direction. As a student, she helped me with my first resume, as a professional, she's edited presentations, as a friend, she has hosted me when I was far away from family, as a mentor, she has encouraged my education, as a woman, she has thrown herself into the fire advocating for other women. If you want someone who has strong ethics, who advocates against injustice, and works hard , you want Dr. Landesberg-Boyle on your side."

Jill Landesberg-Boyle and Third Wave
Dr. Jill Landesberg-Boyle understood that a web presence is a strategic marketing tool. FKCC needed to boost enrollment and it's current website was not up to the job. Dr. Jill Landesberg-Boyle realized this and hired Third Wave to redesign the college's site.
There were two main objectives when developing the new website: create a unique, interactive site that will serve as a marketing tool to help boost enrollment and to redesign the look, navigation, layout, and content of the existing website to make it more engaging and user-friendly.
FKCC President, Dr. Jill Landesberg-Boyle, went on to describe the impact of the new site on their college, “Students, Faculty and Staff are blown away by the work Third Wave did and how full of life our web site is now. Everyone is proud to give out their web address because they know when that student, potential student or community member hits the link they can not help themselves but to be as excited about Florida Keys Community College as we are... In the words of one of our students, with this website, we are “unstoppable!” ....Third Wave Digital is a huge part of our new, invigorated life at FKCC and we consider Third Wave a big part of why we are now the fastest growing community college in the Florida system!”
